I Mean Moose Wonderful Time!

Oh how I wish it will snow outside! And I mean real snow…but I guess that’s the pro and con of living in southern California. Except the drought part, now that part just sucks. Some rain would be nice. Ah yes, let’s talk about today’s card!

Today I made a shaker card with synthetic snow made out of plastic material, featuring MFT’s BB Merry Christmoose. The moose looked like he’s looking at something, so I thought it would work perfectly with the MFT Boutique Window die that I had.  However, since he’s moreso at home watching the snow outside, I didn’t use the awning that also came with the die set.

The background, both indoors and outdoors were colored by blending distress inks (my all-time favorite technique), sprinkled with some white watercolor paint. I wanted to contrast the warm indoors with the cold outdoors.

For the moose, I used a masking technique by stamping the moose first, masking the moose, then stamping the pillows behind him. I colored the image with copics and fussy cut him out.

I then stamped the sentiment with black Versfine ink on vellum paper. Lastly, I put it all together with some foam tape, multi medium matte, and adhesive tape. I could probably have added a little less snow, but at this point, it was too late. But, it’s okay, it’s just snowing REALLY hard outside! Hope you enjoy today’s post!

Cheers,

Keeway

  1. How adorable is this card?!?! If I didn’t click on the link to see the set, I wouldn’t have guessed that you used a masking technique for the Moose/pillows. Nice!!!

    Thanks for sharing!
