It’s Always Been You

I happened upon the Create a Smile Guest Designer Search, and thought it would be worth a try! I didn’t own any of their stamps yet, but luckily for me they also offer freebie digistamps so I decided to take a look to see what I can work with. These adorable kangaroos immediately caught my attention, but since New Years had passed, I wanted to utilize them for something different, so I came up with an idea for Valentine’s!

They have some pretty cute stamps, but since I only had about a week to create a card, I didn’t think my stamps would arrive in time, so I had to get a little more creative. I sized down the kangaroo, and also flipped it around so that I can have 2 of them, facing each other. I also decided to print it out in a lighter shade so that the lines a little less visible, so I can do some no-line coloring.

For the background, I wanted something that gave me a sense of romance and bliss. Something that represented love at first sight. So I decided to go with a soft blended background with an emboss resisted sentiment, and blended in a heart shape free handed so that I had no harsh borders that a stencil would have created. I wanted a sparkly feeling by using a bokeh technique, but rather than using circles, I used hearts. Love is in the air!

As a last touch to add a little shimmer, I glued on some clear sequins, and added a scalloped border to the panel.

Hope you like it and wish me luck!
