The celebration continues! It’s Day 2 of The Ton 2016 Anniversary Release Week and we have some adorable critter stamps designed by our very own DT Mayline. Today we are featuring the Honey Bears, Love and a Dog, Love and a Cat, Purrincess, Haute Stripes Background, and Stripe Addict Background stamps.
For my first card, I am featuring the Love and a Dog stamps. This set features 5 versions of this adorable Japanese Spitz. As a dog lover and owner of 3 little dogs, I was immediately drawn to it!
I just love the expressions of these pups and I wanted to share their happiness with you by building an playful scene. I created an outdoor background with some masking and blended inks and filled the sky with butterflies that I stamped from the set. I colored the butterflies and pups with copic markers, and also added some detail to the grass with copics as well. I drew in some dotted lines representing the butterfly path with a white gel pen, and lastly used a sentiment in the same set. I added a bow to as a final touch.
For my next card, I used the Honey Bears set. It is my favorite critter stamps in this release! This bear is so cute, and it comes with a bunch of expressions and accessories. You must watch Mayline’s how-to video and see all the options you can stamp!
With sketchy-like illustrations, I like to pair with some loose watercoloring. I added water to the card panel first before adding colors to create the soft and random blend of colors. I used the sentiment in the same set and again, finished up the card with a bow.
For my last card, I used the Love and a Cat set! The expressions of this cat is so cute and funny, and it was my first instinct to create a comic strip like card. There’s so many possibilities!
Aren’t the expressions on the cat just the best?? What story will you create?
