The Ton Spring Release Day 2

Peonies! We love peonies! There are quite a few peonies sets revealed today, and all of them are absolutely gorgeous. I love loose watercolor florals, and that is exactly what I’m going to share with you today.

I first stamped all the peonies and its leaves from the Loose Peonies set in random fashion on a piece of 140 lb. watercolor paper in black ink. I then took out my Kurtetake Gansai Tambi watercolors and just went with the flow. Literally! For my watercoloring, I used a wet on dry technique. To create this look, you want to lay down colors one layer at a time, lightest to darkest, while also making sure that your also take the effort to soften the edges with some clean water.

I used 4 layers of color here. A light pink, a darker pink, a darker magenta, and a purple shade. I love the flow of color in watercolor because there’s no other medium that will produce such natural flowy results! And it just works so beautiful with these Loose Peonies.

I used the same loose watercoloring on the leaves, but I mixed my own variations of turqouise, but mixing different compositions of blue and green.

Here’s another take on watercolor peonies using the Happiest of Peonies stamp set. This time I used the heat embossing resist technique and went with a bright combination of colors! This time I used yellow, oranges, pinks, and even a hint of purple.

After I finished my watercoloring, I die cut the panel out with a stitched die border, added my sentiment from the Basic Labels set, and a few sequins for glimmer. I added some yellow thread to the top of the card and a finishing bow. Lastly, I adhered the panel to a grey base card with some craft foam in between.
