The Ton 2016 Anniversary Release – Blog Hop

If you’ve been following the blog hop, you probably arrived here from Laurel Beard‘s blog. Welcome! What a week! Thank you all for staying with us to the end in this incredibly packed release week. Have you had a chance to stop by the shop and check out all the new goodies in the shop? We end this celebration with a fun blog hop, filled with more inspiration for the DT team and guest designers.

For this very last day, I decided to go back and play with the Love and a Dog set. I don’t know what it is, but every time I look at this dog, I imagine his fur blowing in the wind in this serene and blissful day. And I played on that imagery when I created this card.

First off, I created the background with the new couture color dye inks: Blue Diamond, Rose Quartz, and Vanilla Frosted Cupcake. I absolutely love the soft mixture of colors that these dye inks is able to produce when blending. I could never get colors this soft when blending distress inks. I then sprinkled some white watercolor in the bottom half of the blended area to create a very dreamy feel, as if there were a field of dandelions.

I stamped and Copic colored several butterflies, and added details to it with a white gel pen, followed by some glitter from my Wink of Stella. I also stamped and colored the dog in Copic.

I stamped a few more of the smaller butterflies outside of the blended area and also the sentiment that came with the set. Hope you like today’s card! Your next stop is Laura Sterckx!
